Being sick sucks!

Hi guys!

Well I've had such a draining week.

Last Friday after work I booked in for the doc right away, I was feeling so not with it, knew something was up. After the visit I was armed with antibiotics so I tucked myself early to bed to beat this bug before it really got me.

Saturday comes around and was feeling not so good, but I powered on, it was my friends 30th birthday! I had booked massages at the Vue day spa in Geelong. I opted for a pedi and I have to say it was awesome! Best pedi I've had... But the colour selection was a bit dodgy- I think there was only around 10 colours! Haha

The day spa is attached to the vue apartments (right near the waterfront) - so I was expecting a decent size day spa. However it wasn't really a day spa, it was just this tiny waiting area and some random treatment rooms off it. It was cute enough but nothing impressive. I do have to say the girls working there were ultra friendly and both the birthday girl and myself walked out much more relaxed than we came in. I think I will visit sometime soon seeing as I'm a gtown local again!

Later that evening we ventured to the city to terra rossa for dinner. Mez had her birthday there a few year back and I was hoping the food and drinks would be as yum as I remembered. It definitely was!!! We went all out and ordered 4 tapas as well as a main. Talk about so much food! But all was delicious! I have to say I had the mushroom pasta for my main and I was silent the whole time I was eating it, it was THAT delicious. I love mushrooms and pasta so how could I go wrong haha After chatting and knocking back a few mocktails it was time to go home. The drive home made us laugh about old times. Sometimes I forget how long high school actually was- over 10 years! What the hell!!

The birthday girl then surprised us with a LancĂ´me lipgloss when we arrived home, wrapped up as a little present and all. Such a nice thing to do- i felt bad taking it as I didn't give her a gift apart from shouting her dinner (big whoop) and a card but it's lip gloss and that's my weakness damn her haha hopefully another day spa arvo will happen sometime soon.

Anyway when I woke up Sunday morning I felt terrible, and the next thing I know it's Thursday and I have literally been stuck here (apart from seeing the doc) since sat night. Today is the first day I've felt like I'm starting to feel like myself again but that said I still feel far from right, I'm still in a daze half the time!

One thing I've learnt from this whole thing is that I have had signs for ages that I hadn't been 100% but i just kept plowing through. Turns out that will come back to bite you... Big time! So off to the doc tomorrow and hopefully its all good because I actually do want to go back to work. I just want normalness (if that even is a word) again! Getting sick sucks, how down in the dumps do you feel!

So in order to cheer myself up I'm going to go back to a simpler time when I'd race home from school to watch this after 4pm...

Heartbreak high anyone??? I was so in love with Alex Dimitriades! I still have his picture next to my computer at work curtsey of jcats hehe I wonder if this show was quite as good as I remember- but somehow I'm thinking it wouldn't be hehe

Seasons are a changin'

Well talk about a let down for Grand Final day! The game was just so ... I dunno, disappointing. (Although I know a few of you think footy is a yawn to begin with anyway!).. nothing exciting really happened. I was happy that the Hawks won, only because Freo were getting to smart for their own good!

Meanwhile Melbourne's wind is going cray cray on us. Debris just seems to be flying around everywhere not to mention pelting rain that just makes me wonder why I even bother making my hair perfecto in the morning. I end up just tackling with my hair to stay out of my face and not stick to my lipgloss haha I guess the wind is a sign that the seasons are changing which is a good thing, I feel like this winter has totally dragged. I think the limited day light annoys me most.

Anywho I must be getting old, just rambling about the weather!

Last Friday night I went to Highpoint with Rhi (aka the bomb diggity -- just for you Rhi haha) after work. She totally convinced me (well didn't have to convince me at all really) after mentioning Tutti Frutti frozen yoghurt. Umm yeahhh I'm going haha.. I love that place, never gets old! Anywho after snacking up (one needs their energy to shop, as Mez and I know) we wandered around Highpoint sussing out some bargins. DJ's had buy 3 OPI item and receive the 3rd free, and can you believe this, but I passed! Rhi was all over that shiz though! I was proud of myself that I held back hehe. And we did go into review and later on I tried on some really cute dresses but walked out thinking a new dress, is it really needed?!

We did spray a whole heap of perfumes while we were in DJ's. I really do want a new smell, and I think I found one after our shopping expedition. But the problem is I can't remember which one I sprayed! So annoying!

By Sunday afternoon the Review dress and perfume were just playing on my mind, so I ended up in Myer intoxicating myself in perfume (I think I have narrowed down what it COULD be) and playing dress ups in Review. I found this dress and before I knew it I was at the counter making the sale! I love Review dresses, so feminine and flattering.

I actually have a few things coming up in the next few weeks which is good, but at the same time its hard to juggle with my studies. My exam is at the end of the month thank goodness, not that I'm ready to sit it, but at least once its done I can go back to normal again! I'm at the point were I could move out again by the end of the year, but at the same time I still have studying to go, and I kind of think maybe I should just stay here and get it done without any distractions. I'm struggling so badly at the moment though, and I thought I'd be better after my holiday but its just got worse. The travelling to and from work is really getting to me now and I especially miss having my own space and being totally independent. Everyone keeps telling me its only a year, you can stick it out bla bla bla. In my mind I know its not that long, but for some reason I'm just finding it really tough. Maybe I just have to ride out this period out for a bit and then see how I go in a month or so. How do you guys stay motivated to keep on track with goals? Maybe I need a few pointers!

The week that was

Hi Guys!

Not much to report really... in a month is my next exam, so basically my weekends now are full study mode. I'm going to be studying like a Boss.. Literally! The subject is kind of interesting so far, but I just hope I can retain it!

Last Friday night I caught up with a friend for dinner and drinks in the city. And nooooo when I say a 'friend' I literally mean a friend - considering I've been such a hermit lately there are no men in sight haha. But anywho back on topic, so I catch up with my friend, and we went for a few drinks first at Campari House. It was so noisy, I was the old person saying "what" "I miss that first part" "huh?!"... So after one drink we were out (plus I was starving!). We went to this cool pizza place on Little Bourke called 39 Pizzeria. Am I late on the bandwagon for this place, I thought it was so tasty! I am going to go back because I want to try some of the stuff the people on the table across from us were woofing down hehe.

Tuesday night I finally got to Myer to get my brows done. I can never just book same day at the brow bar anymore, its kind of frustrating for me because I'm such a last minute person now especially because of the extra travel I do. I often just book things same day depending on how I feel. But Tuesday was all good, tinted and shaped, happy days. While I was in Myer I thought I'd go for a wander, and they had this super cute dress on sale at 30% off. Turns out the mid season sale was starting the next day so I was lucky to pick up it up early!

Wayne by Wayne Cooper - Pocket Posies Bind Detail Dress

I just looked this up and its not a sale item anymore! What sneaky little buggers hey.... well good for me, I scored the discount! haha

Its one of my high school friends 30th Birthday coming up and the plan is to hijack her out of gtown and go for a dinner in the city. I remember domestic divinity going to trunk restaurant and saying how good it was... has anyone been there recently?

Yay its grand final weekend, which means the days will get longer and the weather only gets better from here. I really hope the Hawks win... only because I can't stand Freo! and you gotta go for the Victorian side if your a Victorian don't you? hehe

Have a great weekend y'all :)

Stupid things make me laugh...

I've been seeing the oddest stuff lately while driving. Just flat out randomness.

I think it was Monday... or was it Tuesday (well regardless what day it was) I was stuck at a big intersection in South Melbourne as it pelted down with rain. I look up and there was this random guy just pushing a huge BBQ across the street which had been attached to a skateboard so he could drag it along. I'm confused as to why you would a- transport a BBQ via skateboard b- do this at peak hour and 3 - on the wettest day we've had in ages.

Then this morning I was stuck on the freeway and as I looked around to looking next to me and some guy pulled out one of those long old school combs, and started grooming himself. It cracked me up. Just reminded me of Happy Days. I'm such a creep. Whenever I'm stuck in traffic I look at what the people around me are doing. I love watching people belting out a tune and if they catch you seeing them they go red hehe

Ohhh andddd on the way home tonight there was a person's number plate that said POOCAR. I'm not going to lie, this made me laugh. Someone paid good money to change their plate to that. Why?! I don't understand!

Anywho, this afternoon at work I was trying to make the guy that sits next to me understand how much I love lipgloss. I pulled out all my glosses from my handbag, and we did a quick calculation of their total. Lets just say I nearly died... but the funniest part was, after he saw my reaction, he said seriously as a solution...  "I dunno maybe you can just change to chapstick". I laughed so hard. He clearly doesn't know me. AT ALL. That said I did google chapstick and a 3 pack in a tin came up.Its kind of cute, and cheap. Apparently I should be expecting this as my KK gift this year hahaha

I'm so tired I'm speaking jibberish... apologies for the time you took to read this post that you won't ever get back haha.... nite nite :)

Shopping Rampage

Okay so I come back from Bali cashed up, basically I found the shopping terrible! The only things I bought were some body shop stuff, and this classic Chloe wallet. In hindsight I probably should of bought it online as I did overpay, but eh... I do really love it, and I'm glad its in my hands! Courtesy of the Galleria duty free mall in Bali.

I adore this wallet, its big enough to fit all my rubbish in it. I can even get my phone in there! Yippeeee!

I once again have gone lipstick/gloss crazy. I can't stop myself, I hang out at makeup counters like a bad smell, maybe I do have a problem?! I literally bought a stack a few months ago and nearly all are run out, and I bought 3 new ones being YSL, Dior and MAC.

Anywho one of my latest favourites is Candy Yum Yum lipstick by Mac. I tracked it down in Geelong and I was so excited because the Myer in the city had sold out!

I have this colour in mind with just a plain black dress. The colour is awesome I love it!

Last Friday night I took my time trying on dresses in Myer for ages! There were so many beautiful dresses in for Spring - I was like a kid in a candy shop! But my main task was to get a couple of work dresses as I'm not really feeling my work wardrobe at the moment!

I bought this David Lawrence dress because its just classic. Simple and comfy, its the perfect work attire.

The material is a Navy Blue, and really lightweight.

I also bought this Leona Edmiston dress... she has some awesome flattering styles. Just gotta try them on and suss it out yourself. I know this dress isn't to everyone's liking, but its really comfortable and you feel really feminine in it.

Fancy a mecca maxima bag sitting there in the background haha

Talking about Mecca, its no secret that its my fav shop! Before I went to Bali I stocked up on illuminator, tinted moisturiser and the like. My makeup collection now has a lot of NARS products - obviously Meccas influence. But I really do want a few foundation. Out of everything I've updated, I just can't let go my revlon photoready. I love it, it lasts all day and has awesome coverage. But I burn through the bottles, and wonder if I should take the plunge and trial a few new foundations. Do you have any recommendations - its just gotta be long wearing! I hate getting to 5pm and realising all of my makeup has come off!

Holidaying Bali Style

Hey Guys!

I got back from Bali on Tuesday morning (3rd Sep) which was an experience to say the least. I had never traveled overseas before and had no idea what to expect, and lets just say massive culture shock!

I don't know what the hell I was expecting, and probably I was a little naive to think that Bali was just like here! I honestly found it dirty, and although the people were friendly, the hawkers just drove me completely insane. Just shows I really have no worldly experience... because I freaked the first few nights! Note to self, next time before you holiday do some research so you know what your getting yourself into! Our accommodation was dated and a bit on the dodgy side as well, but thankfully the pool area was good which saved it!

On the upside, I really LOVED the weather, which means I could waste time by the pool everyday! I love swimming and some days I just couldn't drag myself away. I also loved the resorts and amazing restaurants by the beach. We had a day trip to the standard touristy stuff like the rice fields and volcano - the landscape is just so different to home, and so beautiful. As for our accommodation we were lucky enough to get upgraded which made things a whole lot better!

I posted a stack of pictures on instagram (have a sticky beak @KITTY1983) -- here are a few places that I loved!

1- Jimbarin Bay

I had been told by everyone that this is a must do, picture beautiful seafood while you relax on the beach watching the sunset. As our driver pulled into the car lot I was not feeling it AT ALL! Thank goodness Pani had a place on her must do list which was the restaurant part of the four seasons called Sundara. I loved everything about this place! This picture below is from our table - we relaxed on the day beds that you can see after dinner with our drinks. We did not have long enough here, awesome place!

2 - Ayana Resort + Rock Bar

Pani and I decided to spend the afternoon at Ayana's day spa. The resort arranged transport to and from at no cost which was great as we were staying in Legian. I opted for a massage and manicure - both were fantastic. Afterwards we took a golf buggy ride to the rockbar - luckily we had priority entry as the line was quite long, and the sun was really beating down! I took this photo in the cable cart on the way down to the Rockbar... it really was impressive, except for the fact we were sweating like we'd run a marathon from the sun!

Yummy snacks.... curly chips and popcorn chicken... we also had some soba noodles that I thought were delicious!

The sun setting was a beautiful sight!

3 - KUDETA

Another of the 'must do' places in Bali. I would of much preferred to stay in Seminyak but thats the beauty of hindsight hey! Many of the places I liked most were around here. Anywho instead of just drinks at Kudeta, we opted to have dinner  - the food was so good!

These were our entrees ... I had the pasta with softshell crab (I think!) and it was delish!

As we sat out in the open, by the evening, there was little light on our table. By the time the mains came out we could not even see our meals - luckily the waiter had a small torch on hand. The only downer to this place!

4 - W Hotel + Resort

Now this is how I like to travel... in style!... the W hotel in Seminyak is amazing. On our last full day we decided to visit the Away Spa (part of the Whotel). The spa had all the latest and greatest amenities, including impressive massage rooms. They have really thought of everything there, the even had a tablet/ipad in the floor so you can look at something while you enjoy your massage... thats if you don't doze off!

I took a few pictures of the resort - I did try my best!

The daybeds looking onto the beach ...

If you don't want to lounge out in the sun on the daybeds, maybe the couches around the restaurant is more your thing?

Starfish Bloo restaurant part of the resort was a bit of a let down. The food was OK - it was about getting several plates to share. But nothing was overwhelmingly good. Pity because the setting was amazing.

5 - Potato Head and Petitenget

Yes if you have been to Bali Potato head is probably one place you have been! Impressive building with a huge amount of day beds around the pool. We headed there for lunch before we walked around the beach for literally 5 mins to get to the W hotel.

The building wraps around a lawn, with day beds and pool along the front overlooking the beach. We sat back in our part of the international restaurant tucking into our huge burgers.

Petitenget, also in Seminyak was another great little restaurant.

Once you take away the bread sticks, this salad was yum! The deep fried cheese definitely made it!

All in all , Bali can be what you want it to be. You can live the high life or really get among the locals! Have you visited Bali (I feel like the only Australian that hadn't been there before)... how did you like it?

Since being at home though, I have been getting the worst tummy pains! I have had the last two days off work and took myself to the docs to suss out the situation. I am now on a diet that majorly consists of bananas and yogurt - good times for me! Hopefully its just holiday hangover, and my body just getting back on track... well I hope!

Meanwhile I have been thinking about travel destinations that I'd love to take. I was once obsessed with going to the Greek Islands, but for some reason thats strayed from my mind and I keep obsessing about New York. I even think about travelling around the UK. I guess I have some time to think about it before I can afford to go to either!

What are some great destinations to visit for a limited experience traveler? I feel like I need to get my toes wet before I get right on in there! hehe

Sunday 14 July 2013

Hey y'all!!

I have been doggin' the bloggin' life! Whenever I sit down to post I get distracted reading... Yes reading! And trashy romance novels at that... the latest one I read was just beyond ridiculous. Just to give you a run down on my latest read basically we have our angel like virgin who looses her virginity in Florence with her muscle flexing, cocaine head, poetry loving Dante professor. Yep this was truly over the top... Maybe I should venture away from this whole romance genre- or find better books?!

Along with reading I've gone nuts with new music...

--- HA! I just realised I hit the post button before I had even finished getting through this post. oppsies! ---

.... & I have wasted a stack on mullah on itunes. I have been listening to Wale's new album The Gifted... I'm liking! Although, I've been saying his name as whale not wa-ley ... hehehe One of my friends always says I'm sooo white, once again this proves his point.

So the music and reading has been occupying my time before another semester of studying starts, which will mean my train rides to work will revolve around reading study notes. I'm dreading getting back to it.. but I know its worth it in the end!

Anyway I will try to be more organised and post about some fun stuff soon! I'm still reading blogs and prowling around on insta... so make sure to follow me :)

Engrossed in 50 Shades

Hi Prowlers!

Where have I been you ask.... I've been engrossed reading 50 Shades of Grey. Yeah I know, I'm a little late on the bandwagon but one of the guys at work gave me the first book to read (yeah I'm not even going to ask why he bought it haha) and after reading it in light speed, I was onto the second and third.

Okay I'm no literally genius, but the book seems poorly written, corny and predictable. But all that said and done, I totally got hooked in! So easy to read, and I felt compled to find out what happens in the lives of Christan and Ana. Before I started reading I had an impression the book would be kinky as all hell and was really reluctant to read it. But really its a romance - and thats what got me in! I finally finished it on the train this morning, and I couldn't help by smile and slightly awww at the ending (my fellow train travellers must think I'm odd) . Maybe I am a romantic at heart? Who would of thought it!

Anywho, I hear there is a movie to come out based on the books. This intrigues me as everyone envisages Christan to be their own version of hotness. Which begs the question, Who is your Christan?

I feel like a need to do like a Oprah's Bookclub debreif on the book haha.. so many questions.... Did you find the books controversial? Did you find them boring? Did you like Christan's character, did you find Christan and Ana's lack of communication a drainer?

Anyway back to the real world for me xxx

The week that was

Well prowlers,

I passed my exam! Yippeeee!

I can't begin to explain what a relief it feels, knowing all the effort I put in. I am the kind of person who has to work their ass off to get through exams, so I'm pretty proud of myself.I have two exams left to get my CPA status - and the thought of getting through the work is daunting, but I feel like I want to give a good crack before the end of the year. Then start a fresh next year with no study on my back.... (ahhh I'm already looking to next year.. one step at a time Kitty)!

Meanwhile on the work front things have been interesting to say the least. My good buddy, who I sit next to everyday decided to call it a day.. and he finished up on Friday. Honestly it will be good for him, but at the same time, I'm really sad. Probably for my own selfish reasons. We banter all the time, and as much as he can drive me insaine, I will miss having someone that always has my back. Obviously we will remain friends, but I know it won't be the same at work... that said I do work with some awesome people so its not like its the end of the world. Just will take some time to get used to.

I have had good friends leave work before and I always get emotional about it. I think I know its because the friendship will never be the same. When a colleuge / friend moves on, do you to get the waterworks?

Talking about crying, the feminist at work says showing my emotions at work i.e. crying means I won't move up the corporate ladder. She makes me laugh, but I wonder if she has a point.

Friday we had the final farewell for my workbuddy followed by a games night with the work social club. We were all split into teams, ours being named Kitty's litter haha... (well I find it funny/funny-lame even if you don't :P ) We bet our arch nemesis mwahahaha ..but I can honestly say the games did not interest me in the slightest, but the drinking sure did haha. After the games I got changed into my party dress, and we strutted to Charlie's Bar along Hardware Lane. I had never been there before, probably a good place to start the night with a few drinks .. and yum cocktails. Unfortunately I piked it early just after 9... I knew I had to take the train home and I didn't want to be stonkered and on the train at midnight. Scary and stupid... so probably made the right decision -- I really have to stay in the city for these drinking events. Was a fun night though!

The rest of the weekend was pretty slow for me... My brother came down to visit. And I did manage to hit the shops, but left empty handed apart from Hair products and the MAC Lipgloss. Its not as glitterly as I would of liked... there are a couple more glosses I want to waste my money on... I think I will just have to succumb to the temptation to find a new favourite - Smashbox, Dior and Chanel are on the list of must tries. I did order my ever reliable Racy Raspberry super Lustrous Revlon lipgloss today, so hopefully that comes soon. I can hardly remember the gloss on ... hope its as good as I have hyped it up to be in my head haha

MAC Lustreglass = $35

This picture shows you nothing except up my nose and that its kinda glossy...

I have booked a hair cut and colour for next week... my ends feel a bit on the dodgy side, and my hair is kinda looking top heavy. I am impressed at how long its grown... that I am happy about!

Ahhh I love a slefie hahaha

Sunday 9 June 2013

A few new favourites just in time for the long weekend

Hope your all having an awesome long weekend.

Warning, I've gone cray cray with the pictures... some I have taken back from Instagram, so sorry for the repeat!

I noticed while perusing adore beauty that they are now stocking CND Vinylux. CND are the makers of Shellac which most of us love for its long wear and glossy finish, so when I stumbled across Vinylux I was intrigued.

Basically the polish claims to be 7 days chip free - with the same glossy finish as shellac. Application is easy, two thin coats of the weekly polish followed by a final clear top coat layer - this process does not need the use of lamps, and the drying time between each coat is very quick. ( The longest dry time is after applying the top coat roughly around 7 mins). The polish reacts to natural light which makes the polish more durable.

I had to have this baby pink called cake pop (gee fancy me choosing a pink ..)

For me the key to this polish is application, if you don't apply your top coat properly making the base colour exposed, it will still be inclined to chip (which happened to my pointers). I have since reapplied the polish and looks a million dollars. Granted the glossy claims could be over the top (nothing tops the glossiness of freshly done shellac) but it definitely does dry really quickly , and is awesome for a DIY kit.

I bought both the weekly polish and top coat from adorebeauty for $19.95 each - they now have free shipping in Australia which is a good incentive if you want to give it a whirl.

I have been looking for an excuse to get this Nebula Choker from Mimco, and as I was going out on Saturday night, and still having a gift card from my birthday, I thought I'd finally get it.

$149 later... but I seriously do love it!

Pani and I decided to escape Gtown again, and we took a punt on a Wotif mystery deal. We were happy to find out it ended up being the Grand Hyatt which was within walking distance of most of the night spots we like to frequent :P

We walked into our apartment only to be greeted with this awesome view of Melbourne.

Not bad for a wotif deal!

We did venture to Spice Market and thought we'd get into the cocktails. Our first choice was some form of peachy deliciousness - I have no idea what was in there but it was good! I drank it so fast, that I was ready for another. So we decided on some coconut white chocoloate liquor thingy. BIG MISTAKE - was AWFUL!
We decided to cut our losses with Spice Market and we ventured to Fashion Lounge. Awkward, we walked in for free, but I think it was rather humorous for security knowing what we were walking into... a night of boringness. We left quick smart, and ended up at Long Room. Pani was happy as she had never been before... all was good until the coconut cocktail came to cause me havock. Good times.. NOT!
The music was alright, but I wasn't feeling the whole lets remix California Love into some sort of housey version.

Meanwhile this morning when we got up, we decided to venture to this awesome cafe at the GPO building. I'm pretty sure I've blogged about it before, but the food is super yummy.

We did venture through the city for a bit, basically me being a stalker for the glossiest and shimmery lip gloss I can find ... So far I'm loving the Lip Enhancing Gloss by Smashbox. I will have to venture to the shops tomorrow to suss it out.

Anywho I made Pani drive to True Blue Shoes in Brunswick as I was after some flats for work. I was pretty disappointed - there wasn't much to choose from. Its always a risk going there, sometimes awesome, sometimes sucky.. this time obviously the latter.

Right next door is this awesome typically brunswick cafe I always walk past but never stop in. I'm pretty sure its called the Green Refectory...

It has its own hippie vibe going....

This lemon tart was seriously awesome.

Actually all the food looked delish... I'm sensing if your a local you'd be a regular!

Finally for some Saturday night selfies....

I bought this dress from Portmans on Friday night. 12 hours later it was 30% off..

I had to take this at home tonight to show you the dress. I really like it, its different and I wasn't sporting the signature black melbourne look.

This is me trying to take a picture of the back of my dress.... it has a big cut out on the back. I'm giggling because I cannot even point my camera in the right direction to show you...  But you can check out the dress here..... and unlike me you can score it for 30% off - the offer looks like it ends on Monday night though.

Hope your having a great relaxing long weekend. Nothing beats not having to get up to an obnoxious alarm clock tomorrow... yipeeeeee!

Sunday 2 June 2013

Turning 30!!!!

Why O'why didn't I post about my birthday sooner!

The details are already sketchy at best, but I have pictorial evidence of the following ...

EATING

(looks like Pani is going ghetto on someone in the background, common Pani that behaviour is only allowed in Gtown haha)

DRINKING

Why not have one drink, when one can have two.... well appears to be my motto of the night really

ENTERTAINING

(... The PA found this flyer which says Kitty Kat was going to be a headline act)

I chose to have the party at the Merrywell bar in Crown - I'd heard its a pretty relaxed venue, and its perfect for the boys (esp my brothers) who don't mind a punt.

Anywho, the party turned out to be pretty funny- some awkward moments definitely did eventuate. At least this story I can tell... My friend raced over to me, we'll call her Marcia. Kat Kat, guess what.... Rod Stewart is here, Rod Stewart is here, get a camera, get a camera! I said (even in my drunken state), I don't think so buddy, but I collected the camera and off we went. We circle the bar area, until we approach this tiny dude, who really only had one feature that looked like rod, being the hair. I kept walking thinking, Marcia Marcia Marcia.... and I turn to see her full introducing herself to him asking him if he was Rod Stewart ... I just have her image in my head "Excuse me are you Rod Stewart, really are you?!" and he was just looking at her like she was a crazy person! HILARIOUS... Marcia can be quite awkward at the best of times but this one definitely takes the cake!

I have got to say the staff at Merrywell were awesome, and made my party fantastic. David had everything covered, so shout out to him for doing a great job! The food was all delicious, and just so much of it! I know they are famous for their burgers so I got mini burgers, beef tacos, pork quesadilla, Vietnamese rolls and buffalo wings. They even brought out two huge birthday cupcakes as my birthday cake! Good thinking guys - I was just way to unorganised to get a cake.

After a few more drinks, we ventured up to the dodgy clubs in crown. They were seriously crapola! and in my drunken state I ended up pashing on with some random dude, and to which I was told a few days later by the kiwi that I said to her at the time, I just kissed him to get rid of him. Yeah Kitty, who said alcohol doesn't impair your judgement? haha As the night was just reaching a whole new level of class, we all decided to call it quits, and ventured back to the hotel room.

I was staying at Metropol again, basically because of its convenience  That said, it does lack in some areas, like bathroom privacy. From 9am Sunday morning I was sick, REALLY SICK! Put it this way, I'm sure my peeps were not impressed to wake up to "wahhhh I spewed on myself" -- but I'm pretty sure I just heard laughing. By midday I finally passed out, and woke up later in the day to find that everyone had left. I did have a note from Pani telling me she didn't want to wake me, and left me munchies for when I got my appetite back. That day felt like the longest ever! Haven't had a hangover like that for a LONG time!

Meanwhile, I have stayed at Metropol a few times now, and I think I've done my dash with it. This is the view from Level 9 - pretty crappy to be honest.

I must say that Jessica at the reception desk was so helpful, and moved me from a room for two, to a room for four, which was awesome. So Jessica, if your reading, good work!

All in all, I had an awesome time! So glad I decided to celebrate the night with family and friends and have a good laugh. Turning the big 3-0 ain't so bad afterall!

PS - Looks like I had a thing for the selfie during the night...

Enjoy peeps!!! xxx

Benefit...They're Real Review

Its pretty obvious I'm a bit of a fan of benefit products. I was introduced to the brand by a friend a few years ago and I was surprised at the quality of the products. One of my favourite buys was their smokey eye kit... (For people like me who have NO IDEA on how to achieve a smokey fail, the kit is basic idiot proof).

I have been desperate for a new mascara for a few months now. I just want longer lashes, but I really am reluctant to try new products basically because my eyes are rather sensitive some products. However, I thought, how will I know what works unless I try it, so I picked up They're Real mascara by Benefit. Basically since I last visited the Benefit Brow Bar this mascara has been on my mind, and after googling the results I thought I just had to try it.

Honestly if I didn't read up on my product, I think I would never bother picking this up. I hate products with claims on the front i.e. 94% saw dramatic length etc...

The packaging isn't amazing but I won't hold that against them....

This mascara is a dream to apply. The brush glides across your lashes - no need to apply multiple layers to achieve that dramatic look.

The brisels at the very tip of the brush get all those small hairs that usually refuse to get picked up with a standard brush.

This is a before and after. This was two coats. I thought the result was awesome! Unfortunately (as you all probably know) I'm not the best photographer but believer me, the result is long, curled and non clumped lashes. Definitely a big tick from me!

My eyes look so much bigger, and I feel like I don't need to wear eyeliner which is what I've been trying to avoid. (By the end of the work day my eyeliner ends up looking a mess).

The only thing I'm a bit worried about is my sensitivity. So I guess we'll see how it goes after 24 hours and if I get the puffy eye look! Otherwise I'm back to the drawing board!

I purchased the Benefit They're Real Mascara from Myer for $38. Click here if you want or should I say NEED the link.

I also ventured to the Benefit Brow Bar and again - I was not let down. I am never disappointed when I go there.

Okay my serious face, but you get the idea. Brows perfectly shaped to my face and tinted.

I have a terrible routine, and I should be making sure I visit the brow bar fortnightly like clockwork. I feel like I run out of time to make any appointments anywhere, and then I end up getting stuck with a dud at the local down the road. I sound rather anal about my brows, but hey its my thing, don't hold it against me!

If you have tried an awesome lengthening mascara, what was it? Do you think it would outdo They're real?

Happy Monday Peeps!

PS - FYI from my last post, these little babies are mine!

Yay! When something is stuck in your mind, you know you have to have. (and one wonders why they can't save haha).
