A few new favourites just in time for the long weekend

Hope your all having an awesome long weekend.

Warning, I've gone cray cray with the pictures... some I have taken back from Instagram, so sorry for the repeat!

I noticed while perusing adore beauty that they are now stocking CND Vinylux. CND are the makers of Shellac which most of us love for its long wear and glossy finish, so when I stumbled across Vinylux I was intrigued.

Basically the polish claims to be 7 days chip free - with the same glossy finish as shellac. Application is easy, two thin coats of the weekly polish followed by a final clear top coat layer - this process does not need the use of lamps, and the drying time between each coat is very quick. ( The longest dry time is after applying the top coat roughly around 7 mins). The polish reacts to natural light which makes the polish more durable.

I had to have this baby pink called cake pop (gee fancy me choosing a pink ..)

For me the key to this polish is application, if you don't apply your top coat properly making the base colour exposed, it will still be inclined to chip (which happened to my pointers). I have since reapplied the polish and looks a million dollars. Granted the glossy claims could be over the top (nothing tops the glossiness of freshly done shellac) but it definitely does dry really quickly , and is awesome for a DIY kit.

I bought both the weekly polish and top coat from adorebeauty for $19.95 each - they now have free shipping in Australia which is a good incentive if you want to give it a whirl.

I have been looking for an excuse to get this Nebula Choker from Mimco, and as I was going out on Saturday night, and still having a gift card from my birthday, I thought I'd finally get it.

$149 later... but I seriously do love it!

Pani and I decided to escape Gtown again, and we took a punt on a Wotif mystery deal. We were happy to find out it ended up being the Grand Hyatt which was within walking distance of most of the night spots we like to frequent :P

We walked into our apartment only to be greeted with this awesome view of Melbourne.

Not bad for a wotif deal!

We did venture to Spice Market and thought we'd get into the cocktails. Our first choice was some form of peachy deliciousness - I have no idea what was in there but it was good! I drank it so fast, that I was ready for another. So we decided on some coconut white chocoloate liquor thingy. BIG MISTAKE - was AWFUL!
We decided to cut our losses with Spice Market and we ventured to Fashion Lounge. Awkward, we walked in for free, but I think it was rather humorous for security knowing what we were walking into... a night of boringness. We left quick smart, and ended up at Long Room. Pani was happy as she had never been before... all was good until the coconut cocktail came to cause me havock. Good times.. NOT!
The music was alright, but I wasn't feeling the whole lets remix California Love into some sort of housey version.

Meanwhile this morning when we got up, we decided to venture to this awesome cafe at the GPO building. I'm pretty sure I've blogged about it before, but the food is super yummy.

We did venture through the city for a bit, basically me being a stalker for the glossiest and shimmery lip gloss I can find ... So far I'm loving the Lip Enhancing Gloss by Smashbox. I will have to venture to the shops tomorrow to suss it out.

Anywho I made Pani drive to True Blue Shoes in Brunswick as I was after some flats for work. I was pretty disappointed - there wasn't much to choose from. Its always a risk going there, sometimes awesome, sometimes sucky.. this time obviously the latter.

Right next door is this awesome typically brunswick cafe I always walk past but never stop in. I'm pretty sure its called the Green Refectory...

It has its own hippie vibe going....

This lemon tart was seriously awesome.

Actually all the food looked delish... I'm sensing if your a local you'd be a regular!

Finally for some Saturday night selfies....

I bought this dress from Portmans on Friday night. 12 hours later it was 30% off..

I had to take this at home tonight to show you the dress. I really like it, its different and I wasn't sporting the signature black melbourne look.

This is me trying to take a picture of the back of my dress.... it has a big cut out on the back. I'm giggling because I cannot even point my camera in the right direction to show you...  But you can check out the dress here..... and unlike me you can score it for 30% off - the offer looks like it ends on Monday night though.

Hope your having a great relaxing long weekend. Nothing beats not having to get up to an obnoxious alarm clock tomorrow... yipeeeeee!

Spring has Sprung!

Heya guys!

My weekend went far too far fast as usual! On Saturday I thought I'd pop into Highpoint to go and hunt down that Penny Peplum top I rambled on about last post. So I rang up Portmans and made sure they had it in stock and off I went... all was going well until I hit the car parks! OMG! Drainer! After driving around in circles for a while I gave up and went straight to the city! I should really have opted for this in the first place, but never mind!

I went straight to Melbourne Central and found the top! Horray! It is a bit shorter than anticipated, but I still love it. I wish there were more of these peplum tops in a cotton type fabric with a cap sleeve. Sportsgirls Peplum tops are awesome, great colours but they are all sleeveless! How much better is Sportsgirl lately! I've seen a few cute dresses in there of late. I think I might give it more of a chance now.

Anyway as I raced out of the shops, really to avoid more spending, I spotted this necklace in Forever New that would go well with that black peplum top I bought on Friday. I really need some cute statement necklaces! This was $25 ... and I think money well spent!

So by Saturday evening I ventured down to Gtown to visit mum and dad. Far out Dad was so excited about the lap top, he ripped open the box right away and was mucking around on it most of the evening. He said wow it has a webcam now I can talk to you all the time ... so we set up skype accounts haha I'm sure the thrill will pass! I'm not keen on this webcam type scenario!

On Sunday we went out to lunch at the Lord of Isles... my parents regular. They love it! I think my parents are very much creatures of habit. When my brother walked in he said, oh you have the warnie look going on, referring to my lippy looking like zinc hahaha Thanks! My other brother is overseas at the moment -- how is this, he went to book a ticket home on the 29 of August except he did it for September instead. Now he is stuck for another month lol... this is typical of him! I dunno why you would want to come home early anyway! Enjoy it all while you can!

Anyway after that I went to visit Pani who had a few adventures to tell me about. That girl I tell you, 29 going on 18! haha (Sorry Pani)! She managed to pass onto me a few bits and pieces that she knew I might like! ahh Such a good friend!

I love the Photoready make up and this powder... people always comment on my skin. This stuff really is the key people!

The gloss and two lipsticks. My kinda colours! Knows me to well :)

As I was writing this post I actually had a call from a guy I went out with a few times and wanted to 'catch up'. Hrmmmm this always sounds suspect to me... avoid avoid avoid!...This is why you never answer blocked numbers people! What are your best lines of excuses to get rid of people? Of late I've been running with 'so busy with work and all, you know, tax time' .... man if that isn't a brush off I don't know what is lol

I have had today off to study but unfortunately I haven' done anything thus far, after I slept in, did some cleaning then went to do groceries and what not... I couldn't stay inside its just too damn nice! I love this weather! Just makes me excited to know that summer is around the corner! Are you a long summer night kinda person or snuggle up to the heater winter chick? I feel like when I was younger winter was the best, now I just love the long days.

I also managed to procrastinate and paint my nails, Essie - Pink Parker. Loving it! Not that you can tell but its neon and loud! Loving this against dark jeans or a little black dress and a tan!

Hope you had a great weekend y'all!

Online shopping... Don't mind if I do

Heya Prowlers!

I thought I'd share with you a few purchases I've made over the last 24 hours!

I have to say I love strawberrynet! How could you not love the prices compared to the makeup counter at myer! People have told me they have had problems with products before but I haven't at all... and I shall continue to use the site until I'm proved otherwise!

My standard buy - Take the day off makeup remover especially for the lips and eyes. Love love love! I have sensitive skin and this is the only product that doesn't puff up my eyes! This was $26 on strawberrynet.... from memory in myer roughly $45 to $50.

I haven't bought this in ages but I love it! Diorshow mascara! Long, thick and curled eyelashes. What more does a girl want (before going fake)! $37.50 spent wisely!

A few weeks ago Pani and I were in Mecca Maxima in Melbourne Central and I spotted these gorgeous lip glosses. I was happy to find them on strawberrynet!!! Golden Gloss Shimmering Gloss #49 - Golden Violette $30- I really can't wait to use this stuff. They look ultra shiny! I'm a big fan of big glossy lips!

Ozsale has a Butter London sale on at the moment! Horray! I got a top up of my favourite Lippy - Teddy Girl. I have been wearing this constantly lately and teaming it up with a pastel pink or purple nail colour. I have been getting quite the compliment about it. However a few guys have not shared the same view. I think guys don't like the pale pink lips look. Whatever I'm loving it!

Butter London Lippy - Teddy Girl $15-

I thought I would get another pink nail polish (no I don't need another pink, yes I just want this one!) $14-

I actually emailed Butter London once about the fact they do not ship to Australia from their website. Instead they sent me a list of stockists in Australia. All of which were so bloody expensive! I'm sorry guys but I'll just wait will Ozsale have the polishes/lippys up for grabs! At least they bothered to email me back!

What are your favourite online shopping sites? I hate waiting for ages for my package - downfall with ozsale!

In addition to lip glosses and nail polishes I don't need, I also sourced out a few new tops to go with my jeans.

I found this ultra cute peplum top on the portmans website and I had to have it. Unfortunately when I went to Highpoint tonight, Portmans had moved and was not open! Boo! Instead I impulse bought at Myer and got a black sleeveless peplum top. I actually really love the top but found when I tried it on with my jeans they kind of clashed as my jeans are so dark. I want to keep the top but now I want the portmans top below and some type of pant/skirt sito to go with the black top! I will post the black top when I find a half decent combo for it!

Portmans Penny Peplum top $39.95 (cheap cheap)!!

I ended up getting Dad a laptop sleeve for his new laptop for fathers day. Lame present if you ask me! But whatever! I tried! We are going out to Fathers Day lunch in Geelong on Sunday afternoon. I'll see if I can rope the family into getting their mugs into a picture so you can meet them all too! They are a hilarious bunch! Thats the joy of having twin brothers!

Have a great weekend guys :)
