A bit of this, a bit of that....

Can I just say moving back to Gtown is such a drag! Can the travel be anymore draining! I've been taking the train and pretty much sleeping as much as I can! I have noticed I often wake myself up to my own snorting, what the hell is with that! Surely people must be chuckling to themselves. Maybe I should opt to sit next to those annoying people with blasting music on their headphones to block out my sleeping noises haha 

Last week I cooked up a storm of cupcakes for a few birthdays at work - I raced home ready to cook a cake, only to find a massive cupcake tray left in the cupboard. Clearly Mum isn't interested in baking. I bought a betty crocker cake mix which said to fill the base of the cake tin with raspberries, so I thought I'd apply the same them to the cupcakes. Hrm, didn't quite work, the bottoms kinda exploded, I think I overfilled the tins. Whatever, at least they got eaten - after I tried to hide the holes with frosting, and you know, surely its the thought that counts? 

I still remember baking a cake for my cousin, and she told me how fantastic it was, and what the recipe was... my reply, head toward isle 4 in your local supermarket and find the betty crocker boxes, flip box around, walk around the supermarket to find remaining ingredients. Okay so I'm a cooking fraud when it comes to cakes! 

Meanwhile I haven't bought polishes in a while, but I picked up these Butter London colours on OZsale a few weeks ago. Thought I'd pop them onto my Audrey Hepburn tin so the colours could pop more ... not that it worked!

My polish application has been horrible of late.... I actually think I need a good manicure, I have been maintaining my nails for so long, every so often its good to have it done for you! I can't believe I had acrylics for so long, el natural is so the way to go! My nails have never been the same since. 

I also bought these few from Essie. I love Essie polishes...The colours are great, and their application is always pretty good. 

Nice is Nice, Cascade Cool and Lights. 

I also bought a nail corrector pen, the bright white pen and some nail polish thinner. Can't wait to unleash that on my bottle of Fiji. How I miss that colour....

Anyway I plan to go to the shops tomorrow night after work. I want to find a few new dresses for work, hopefully I can find what I'm looking for. I love peplum, it hides sins! and I want to take full advantage of this trend while it lasts - but I want something good quality so I'm willing to pay a little more than the usual. 

Mezzy's baby shower is this Saturday - I'm pretty excited to see her. Work can be a drainer without our daily gossip sesh as she was located conveniently near my desk. At least Jkats is back ... yipeee! 

Quick wrap of the week that was....

My room is looking pretty good after the move. I actually don't mind the set up I've got going, Dad even came along and put up all my pictures on the walls and got all my furniture in how I wanted it. So its not so bad to be honest. 

I enrolled into my CPA Auditing and Assurance unit for this semester... $950 later! Bloody hell... what a rip! Well I won't be saying that if I pass, but still.... annoying! Meanwhile my plan to move home and actually go well with my study better work! So far its been alright travelling, albeit the trains aren't exactly perfect. Last night my 5:54 train didn't rock up till 6:30ish... but it was express home so thats not so bad. Having dinner on the table for when you get home is pretty good to! I hope to get through this year doing this, we will see how I go before I go crazy! 

Mez had her final day at work before maternity leave on Friday... I am sad she is going, but i'm glad Jkats will be returning! Yipeee! My side of the office is far outweighed by males, there is only so much sports talk one can handle to be honest. and can I just say guys NO I don't know the cricket score, that joke is long over... but thats okay you keep running with it hahaha

Speaking about the office I made some awesome cookies to celebrate Mez's birthday as well as the dude next to me. They were a hit, by 11am, they were gone! Subway cookies ain't nothing on these little babies hehe

This was the cookie mixture, white choc and macadamia, seriously it was so tempting to each spoon fulls of this batter! I did restrain... only just! 

These are the final product, Dad managed to steal one, but someone has to be the official taste tester! 

I've said it many a time about laying low on the shopping,but there were a few sales I just couldn't resist on Ozsale. Not that I need more nail polish, but I really wanted more everyday soft colours, and maybe a few for Mum too.

Essie was going for $6 ... how can you say no to that! 

I really need the nail polish thinner - can't wait to use it on Essie Fiji, its one of my favourites, but its just way to gluggy at the moment! 

I also picked up these Butter London polishes... Yes I know more pink. I can't help but love! 

 

I have no plans really for this Australia Day long weekend... and its just the way I like it. I feel like my last few weeks have been so hectic that it will be good to just relax and take things as they come. Hope you all have a good long weekend xx

I am so glad Tuesday is over ! It always seems to drag on... once I get to Wednesday its all downhill from there... horray!

I think I gave my horrid flu thing to Mezzy! Damn it .... she did text me saying I was a diseased mongrel hahaha

Finally I received my MOR products from OZsale. I initially was going to palm them off as gifts, but I don't think I can part with them all. They smell to damn good!

 How good is getting a parcel delivered to work! Brightens my day everytime!

The same again except I think this is sorbet flavour.... or something along those lines. Smells awesome, even though my nose is a bit blockaged!

Lip Macaron that everyone keeps telling me is awesome. Unintentionally it matched my nail polish (china glaze something sweet).

What do you guys think about the brand MOR? I like it... except Pani always bags it! How can you bag it?! I mean its in cute packaging and smells awesome -- I don't think its supposed to be some miracle skin care brand.. it is what it is.

I have printed a few cocktail recipes for the weekend. Lychee martini's sound like the way to go! Then i found this really sickly sweet cocktail recipe (its in my handbag - too hard to dig out).. but the main ingredient was Malibu. That stuff causes headaches everytime! Talking about drinks that you know cause you trouble the next day hangover style... Smirnoff double blacks. OMG! When i jump onto those (usually later in the night) I'm in for some serious pain the next day!

Do you guys have any hangover cures? I feel like I don't want to sacrifice the drinks I like just because I can't handle a more than extreme headache.

I am NOT an alcoholic! Even though I'm noticing a trend in my posts haha
