Solo shopping has its upside!

Hi Guys,

I was supposed to go to Geelong tonight but instead I headed straight into the city after work! Which was silly, I told a friend I was busy, thinking I'd be going to Geelong and that next Friday I'll catch up with her. Instead whats happened is I ended up getting freed up this Friday and next week I'm going to a work thingy so shops afterwards mightn't be the smartest idea! I hate going back on agreeing to plans, no matter how honest you are, it always sounds like bull to the other party.

Anywho, I don't know about you but I really enjoy going to the shops on my own sometimes! I do enjoy going with friends, but going solo means I can do everything I want! (...and yes its me just being selfish haha). So today I went to Myer to pick up the layby I yabbered on about last post. I decided to keep the crop jacket... and returned the dress. When I got home, I put on the crop jacket on, and far out, my chest is huge! I really hope my running assists in reducing them, they are getting in the way of fashion! haha But I am keeping it as I love it so!!

David Lawrence Crop Jacket $229

There were actually quite a few people in Myer for a Friday night - I think the sales draw a few more extra faces! There seemed to be some great sale items on the second floor - I really wanted to go back and go through a few racks, but I knew that could be a spending disastor so I kept on walking - straight to the Benefit Brow Bar.

Earlier today I thought enough is enough - time to attack my bushy eyebrows! haha ... And I questioned Mez about visiting the benefit brow bar in Myer - her response was tried it, they were good - so thought I'd give it a go. I'm at the point now where I am willing to try anything! If you follow Mez's blog you will know she is a big fan of Miss Fox... and I too did visit the girls at brow theory. Although I liked the results, getting an appointment at a time that suits was just getting ridiculous. I found this really annoying, especially since my brows grow at stupid times I'm never quite sure how long to leave it. And honestly, the whole threading thing, PAINFUL! I tell you what, hats off to you girls that get their mo threaded! So after a few times getting that done, I went back to the girl that used to do them for me at my local beauty salon. I would always rely on her as she would give a standard non special job, just neat and tidy. But the last time was awful, NEVER AGAIN! She totally thinned them out, and made the middle really uneven. I literally have left my eyebrows for a whole month to recover and they were quite the mess! Which brings me to my adventure to the benefit brow bar!

The brow bar is located in the far left corner on the ground level of Myer and it is a busy little mecca. I never realised it was there before! Anyway I randomly asked if I could get my eyebrows done, and I was popped onto a list, and within 5mins of waiting my name was up! Horray! I didn't get the girls name, but she was fantastic! I liked the fact that you sit in a chair that doesn't make you lie flat - usually when this happen I have my eyes closed, and the therapist decided to get a hard core light right on my eyes. Although my eyes are closed I find this really uncomfortable and causes me to cry. Maybe I'm just sensitive! Anyway results speak for themselves so here is the outcome....Just bare in mind that one of my eyebrows is more 'how you doin' than the other - and always has been!

... and this is my el natural curly hair. What do you think? Honestly I dunno, I think people think it looks crap but pretend they like curls. What do you honestly think? Don't worry I won't be offended by your truth!

I know practically the same picture, just different light...

See how the right eyebrow has a much higher arch... Hence why I call it the how you doin' eyebrow haha (yeah again lame). I actually really like them! What do you guys think!?!

The lovely brow expert then gave me the appropriate coloured brow powder and wax. I was ultra happy with this as I'd be meaning to do this for a long time! I am so in love with benefit products, especially for the fact they include instructions for novices like me, and they are all so damn cute!!!

This little brow shaping kit cost $55... What is great about the benefit counter is the girls often do one side of your face, and you have to try and do it yourself to the other. Its good when your really not sure what your doing.

The brow wax and shape cost $27. They also do all different types of eye things like tinting, and lashes application. Horray! I defiantly will go back to the brow bar! I hope that my follow up experience will be just as good!

Sorry for the complaining over the past few posts about my lack of love life. I actually think maybe the problem is that I'm not 100% happy within myself. I'm going to try and work on some things before I worry about any guys. Don't get me wrong, I am not depresso or anything! I just think maybe I'm quick to point fingers at external factors when really I should be looking within! Yes rather lame but its true!

I'm off to Geelong tomorrow, and yipeeee I'm getting my hair done!!! Will keep y'all posted! Happy Friday :)

    1. Thanks!!!

I am loving the brow kit actually... It's really easy to use. Except maybe I go overboard with the colour which can look drag queen like haha

  3. I love your curls! I think they would look great styled with a beach sea salt spray and then left for the summer - hot !!!

YES to eyebrow kits - they totally change your face. Make it more defined. Only this year I have embraced ye' old eyebrows and heckkkk they make a hell of a change!

I know how it feels not to be 100% happy with yourself too. Just dont beat yourself up about it :)

    1. Hi soph...

Yeah the curls are totally summer! I can't wait to see a bit of the sun as my legs are reflecting the light like a mirror lol thank goodness for fake tan!

I really want to get better at the whole male up thing... Especially a night time look. When I have more time on my hands I will def waste some time playing around with colours and looks.

    2. Invest in the Naked Palette 2 or 1 ... with your skin tone and features it will be the only eyeshadows you use!

  4. I love your curls. I wish I had curly hair.

I love your eyebrows - they did a great job. I do love benefit...except once at chaddy..I got a free makeover and this girl used a blunt eyebrow pencil on my my brows in the wrong colour and drew all over my skin - I had to go to the bathroom to wash it off!

    1. Hi Libby,

That sucks about your experience at chaddy. Nothing worse leaving and not being happy with your look.

Having curly hair means you waste a lot of time straightening let me tell u that much! Haha I used to curse my curls all thru high school an willed for straight hair... Now I can do both and the curls have been tamed because of straightening. So really I can't complain now!

  5. Curls get the girls yoooo.

I love your curls, I like them best when you let them be 'softer' with less product - which it looks like in these photos!!

I am dying at work over you "Hey how you doin'' eyebrow haha - never noticed it though.

    1. Haha... Well I'm glad it's not totally noticeable hehe damn eyebrow!

Yes I know you like the softer curls but its hard to achieve. Only because if I don't put enough product my hair becomes this frizzy mess so sometimes i overdo the product to avoid this. This sounds weird but also depends on the weather... The warmer the weather the better the curl. My hair likes the sun hehe
